The double-cylinder circular sock machine uses a sock machine with two upper and lower needles to knit medium and short socks. It can produce socks of various organizations such as plain needle, thread, double back, jacquard, plated yarn, horizontal bar, tuck and so on. The upper and lower needle grooves of the double-cylinder circular hosiery machine are opposite to each other. Its key loop-forming parts are double-headed latch needles, needle guide pieces and sinkers, and the knitting pattern still needs to have leg pieces and jacquard pieces.

The double-headed latch needle is knitted under the action of a guide piece, one end of which is engaged with the guide piece, and the other end is knitted. When the lower needle tube is manipulated by the lower needle guide piece, the multi-latch needle uses the upper needle hook to weave the face electromagnetic coil. The double-needle circular sock machine is equipped with upper and lower cam systems. The lower triangle system has a double triangle seat, which is used when the needle tube is unilaterally and double rotated to knit the heel and toe. The upper triangle system only allows the multi-latch needle to be knitted when the needle tube is rotated unilaterally. Both the upper and lower triangle systems have transfer triangles, which allow the multi-latch needle to move left and right. The double-cylinder circular hosiery machine can also be equipped with two or three loop forming systems. For example, taking the double-headed latch needle from the lower needle tube to the upper needle tube as an example, the whole process is divided into four steps:

① Needle feeding: the lower needle guide piece is raised to push the latch needle upward;

② Hook feeding: the latch needle pulls the upper guide piece apart and enters the hook of the upper needle guide piece;

③ Decoupling: the lower needle guide piece and the latch needle are loosened;

④ Calibration: The lower guide pin is lowered to return to the origin. The sock knitted by the double-needle circular sock machine has good extensibility, but the mechanism is too complicated, and electronic technology has been applied to simplify the organization.
